Queen Elizabeth II has two birthdays. Her real
birthday is on April 21st. She was born in 1926. The

Her 'official' birthday' is on
the second Saturday of June. And there is a great parade in London on that day

Why does the Queen have two birthdays? This tradition started 250 years ago by King George
II. He was born in November, but weather is usually bad in autumn. So, the king
celebrated it in summer when there was a military parade. Thus, public birthday
for kings and queens began!
